K-12 Educational Consulting Supporting Neurodivergence
Children with learning differences, like ADHD, autism, and dyslexia, have amazing assets. They also have learning and social-emotional needs that must be appropriately supported so they can thrive in education and in life. Our consulting provides expert advice and collaboration to ensure equitable, strong outcomes for students, wherever needed: at home, in school, or in their community.
1 in 5 school-aged children in the U.S. have a learning or thinking difference like ADHD, autism, or dyslexia (Source: Understood.org). Our mission is to ensure neurodivergent students can thrive in school, at home, and in life, by raising awareness, providing education about effective strategies, and designing creative systems of support that celebrate their strengths and bridge challenges. To bring that to reality, we’ve developed three distinct yet related service areas.
We work with K-12 schools to build strong systems and team protocols for MTSS and special education, and increase teacher agency and collaboration, which improves student access and outcomes.
We work with families to design intuitive systems and routines at home that support emotional regulation and executive function skill development for their neurodiverse child, so home is a place where everyone thrives.
We work with community organizations that support K-12 neurodivergent students in their participation in sports, hobbies, and public events, so they can experience inclusion among their peers.
The Pillars of Our Work
Relationships
Relationships and collaboration form an invisible network of strength, inspiration, and synergy. CSE’s primary focus and investment is in relationships — forming strong partnerships and acknowledging the unique contributions of each person.
Attention to Detail
In order to design transformational systems and solutions, we must first invest in carefully looking through the details of the current situation. CSE utilizes a lens of curiosity, encouraging dialogue that includes identifying assets and areas of challenge, so all involved experience a sense of value and opportunity to improve outcomes.
Agency
Having a sense of agency is crucial, no matter our age or stage in life. Adults and children benefit greatly from the freedom, expression, and influence that come with the opportunity of agency. CSE designs all of its systems around this fundamental right.
